Our school rules

Our school Sint- Jozefinstituut has got rules. Rules are important in our school because not everybody can do what they want. We will give you some examples of the rules:

· School starts at 8:35.

· At 12:10 we have lunch break

· We have to be in school again at 13:25 after lunch

· No chewing gum in school

· You must participate in gymnastics classes

· No Phone during the lessons

· Appropriate clothing (no training and in the summer no tank tops, only T-shirts)

· Keep the classes clean

· It’s forbidden to smoke at school

· We may not have piercings

I think these rules are good for our school because it won’t be good if everyone could do what they want. Students need disipline. The only thing that I don’t like about the rules is that we may not wear tank tops in the summer. I like the time table of our school: we have 4 hours in the morning and than after lunch again 4 hours in the afternoon.

This year is the first year that we may use our mobile Phone, but only in the breaks. When the lessons start again we have to put our mobile phones back into the lockers. Mobile Phones are forbidden in the lessons. Teachers may also not use their mobile Phones in the lessons. But when we may use our mobiles it’s only for sending messengers not for calling, if you do use your Phone for calling or use you’re Phone during the lessons then we have to give our diary and the teacher will write a note.

What happens if you do not follow the school rules?

When you first don’t follow the rules you will have to give your diary.
The teacher will write something in your diary what you've done wrong on the playground or in the classroom.

As the situation get’s worse you will have to stay in school on Friday evening until 18.10 h, instead of 16 h.
There you will have to write about something.

If the situation has not improved then you will get suspended for a half or full day.

  1. Hello.
We find your rules quite strange except for the rules about smoking and mobile phones. Are you not allowed to wear sweatpants in school?! Or what do you mean by "training"? Here in Sweden you are allowed to wear anything you want, u can even come naked if you want to ;) ´
